I grew up in Southern Oregon and went to school at the University of Oregon in Eugene. While there I lived a life far outside of anything resembling Christianity. On a trip to Mexico one year I was smacked in the face by The Lord and I became a follower of Christ. Now, years later, I live in Oak Park, California (a suburb of Los Angeles) with my wife and four kids.
There are a few things that will help you understand what makes me tick…why I do what I do. I think it would be helpful for you to see these, my writings and teachings will make more sense to you.
First, I’m driven by an insatiable desire to share what I know about The Lord with other people. I think this comes primarily from the fact that I know very well what it is like to live life pre and post belief in Christ. I relate very well to those that do not or cannot believe, because I was like that for so long. Until my dying breath I will share the hope that lies inside of me.
Second, I’m driven by love for my family. I have a wonderful wife and four beautiful, incredible children. Psalms 127:3 says, “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children His reward”. I love that verse…the written word of God is challenging, comforting, encouraging and amazing. When I see my kids, I see more clearly my relationship with God. My wife is an example of a woman that loves God. She loves me and our children and provides for us in so many ways that I often times feel unworthy of her. Many of my decisions, many of my passions are a result of my relationship with my wife and children.
Third, I’m driven by my love of creating and building things. Systems, work flow models, communication pieces…I love creating tools that help things work. I think this is why I started and ran two businesses. This is why I love the challenge of business operations. The bottom line with me is that the bigger the challenge, the more I am apt to want to be a part of it. Simple is just that…simple. Impossible can capture my attention!
My blog is my open journal to the world. Why? Because God has taught me so many things in my 36 years that I feel it would be selfish if I didn't share them with others as well. Things about my health, things about relationships with others, and a passion for sharing Christ with those that do not (or cannot) believe in Him.
